The Asia Feminist LBQ Network (AFLN) is seeking a strategic and collaborative East Asia Program Associate to join our team and help lead regional initiatives that center the voices and power of LBQ activists across East Asia.
Location: Remote (Must be based in East Asia).
Employment Type: Full-time.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support regional programming, including capacity building, convenings, and advocacy efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with grassroots partners and activists across East Asia.
- Assist in grantmaking and monitoring support for LBQ-led initiatives.
- Conduct and coordinate research, documentation, and knowledge-sharing relevant to LBQ and feminist movements in the region.
- Contribute to the development of regional strategies, based on political and movement analysis.
- Represent the organization in regional coalitions, forums, and advocacy spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Has deep knowledge of the political and social landscape of East Asia and experience working with LBQ, feminist, or human rights movements.
- Brings 3+ years of experience in program coordination, organizing, or grantmaking in a nonprofit or movement-building context.
- Is skilled in communication, relationship-building, and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Can work independently and with care in remote, multilingual, and diverse team settings.
- Is committed to feminist values, collective care, and transformative justice.
- Language skills in Japanese and/or Korean are an asset.
- Must be able and willing to travel.
