The Asia Feminist LBQ Network (AFLN) is seeking a motivated Program & Participant Engagement Fellow to support the planning and coordination of regional convenings and capacity-building initiatives, including the LBQ SRHR Training (October 2026) and the Asia Feminist LBQ Conference (AFLC) 2027 in Bangkok, Thailand.
This fellowship is ideal for someone interested in queer feminist movement-building, event coordination, participant care, accessibility, and community engagement. The Fellow will work closely with the Senior Program Officer and the AFLN team to support participant engagement and help ensure participants have a smooth, welcoming, and accessible experience throughout the planning process and during the events.
Location: Remote (Southeast Asia preferred), with support for travel during in-person events in Bangkok, Thailand
Duration: October 2026 – March 2027 (6 months)
Employment Type: Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours per week (flexible) with increased availability during major event periods, particularly the October 2026 training and key AFLC preparation milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participant Coordination
- Support participant outreach and communication before, during, and after events.
- Track registrations and maintain participant databases.
- Follow up with participants regarding required forms, travel information, and deadlines.
- Respond to participant inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Scholarship & Logistics Support
- Assist with scholarship administration and documentation.
- Track participant confirmations, travel arrangements, accommodation, and reimbursements, where applicable.
- Support logistical preparations for both online and in-person activities.
- Accessibility & Participant Experience
- Help collect and organize participants’ accessibility requirements.
- Support accessibility and language access arrangements where appropriate.
- Assist in developing participant information packs, FAQs, and guidance materials.
- Contribute to creating welcoming, inclusive, and trauma-informed participant experiences.
- Volunteer & Community Support
- Assist with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and coordination for AFLC.
- Help document participant feedback and lessons learned to strengthen future events.
- Administrative & Program Support
- Maintain organized records, spreadsheets, and planning documents.
- Take meeting notes and follow up on action items.
- Assist in preparing event materials, registration documents, and participant communications.
- Provide general administrative support for program activities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Committed to queer feminist values, human rights work, accessibility, and participant care.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage administrative tasks accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of one or more additional Asian languages is a strong asset, particularly for communicating with diverse participants and supporting multilingual events.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools in a remote, multicultural team.
- Adaptable and calm in fast-paced event environments. Experience is a plus.
- Comfortable communicating with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience, particularly with LBQ communities, is a plus.
- Equipped with their own laptop and reliable internet connection for the duration of the fellowship.
